History
In 1994 five Christian moms had a vision to start a homeschool co-op for their children. These five families began meeting in a one room Lisu church and then as the group grew they began rotating to different homes. As time went on the group became too large to remain in homes, so the families approached Chiang Mai Community Church and began renting classrooms from them. The leaders became well organized and began having classes for pre-k through high school students. Eventually two Thai families joined the co-op and they came to know Jesus and continue to walk with Him. The co-op continued to grow, so in order to have more space, in 2014 the co-op began renting classrooms from a building owned by Cru (Campus Crusade) and this is where they still meet today.
Over the decades the Chiang Mai Homeschool Co-op has continued to expand and thrive! We now have around 150 children and 40 international families coming together on Monday mornings to enjoy supplemental classes and community in a Christ-centered environment. The gospel continues to be shared with parents and children as they come to the co-op and get to know families who desire to educate and disciple their children with Christ at the center of their lives. The Chiang Mai Homeschool Co-op has been blessed throughout the years with amazing parents who have shared their gifts and time to develop a wonderful homeschool community in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
