To sign-up to attend any of the events listed go to the Co-op Events Sign Up Sheet. Events that do not take place on Mondays at co-op are open to any homeschool family. If you have any questions regarding events, please email Rachel.

Family Picnic
Monday, January 5 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM All families participating in our spring co-op are invited to pack a lunch and join us for our family picnic the Monday before co-op begins! (We love to see our dads too!) This is a perfect time to reconnect with friends and meet the families who will be new to co-op. The picnic will take place at 11:30 AM at our normal co-op location. |

Spring Semester Begins
Monday, January 12 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM The first day of our spring co-op semester will be Monday, January 12! Participating families should plan to arrive at 8:30 AM to do setup jobs and familiarize their children with their co-op classrooms. Co-op will end at noon with an optional picnic lunch following until 1:00 PM. |

Photo Scavenger Hunt & Game Night
Friday, January 16 4:00-9:00 PM All high school students are invited to meet at Mae Hia market for a photo scavenger hunt. From 4:00-5:00 PM we will form teams (any student who was not in the fall photography class will be paired up with someone who was) and receive the photography assignments that you need to accomplish first to win. Then we will regroup at the market and walk back to the VW's house (10 min walk) to admire everyone’s photos, have a pizza dinner, and play board/card games. Mae Hia Market Pin |

Taylor University Dinner
Tuesday, January 20 7:00 - 8:30 PM All high school students and parents are invited to The Duke's at The Gallery from 7:00-8:30 PM to meet Taylor University representatives, hear more about this wonderful Christian university, and have a free dinner. They have a deep love for international and homeschool students, so this might be a university your student would like to consider. Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park
Thursday, January 22 9:00-10:00 AM Join us at 9:00 AM at Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park to learn about all the amazing products that can be made from recycling elephant poop. There is a 45 minute tour (in English) through the park explaining the process, and then each person will make an A4 piece of paper out of poo poo pulp and a bookmark from poo poo paper. 12 Angry Men Book Club
Friday, January 23 5:30-9:00 PM High school students, mature middle school students, and parents (optional) are invited to join us at the Vrugginks’ home at 5:30 PM to have a pizza dinner (50 THB per slice), participate in a discussion led by the VWs on the book 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, and watch the 1957 version of the movie. Pick up time is 9:00 PM. (Parents should be warned the book and movie contain mature themes including discussion of murder, prejudice, smoking, and drinking. Please research beforehand to make sure you’re comfortable with your students reading the book and watching the movie. Families are welcome to come just for the book discussion if they do not wish to watch the movie.) |

Library Skills Day
Friday, January 30 2:30-4:00 PM Families are invited to go to the Grace International School library from 2:30-4:00pm to learn basic library skills and etiquette when visiting a library. We have two identical days you can choose between: January 30 or March 19. The event is aimed for 2nd-6th graders, but students of all ages are welcome. Group size is limited to 20 students. Silas Marner Book Club
Friday, February 13 5:30-9:00 PM High school students, mature middle school students, and parents (optional) are invited to join us at the Vrugginks’ home at 5:30 PM to have a pizza dinner (50 THB per slice), participate in a discussion led by the VWs on the book Silas Marner by George Eliot, and watch the 1985 version of the movie. Pick up time is 9:00 PM. (Parents should be warned the book and movie contain mature themes including childbearing complications, mild profanity, alcohol, drugs, and smoking. Please research beforehand to make sure you’re comfortable with your students reading the book and watching the movie. Friday, March 13 5:30-9:00 PM High school students, mature middle school students, and parents (optional) are invited to join us at the Vrugginks’ home at 5:30 PM to have a pizza dinner (50 THB per slice), participate in a discussion led by the VWs on the book The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, and watch the 1975 version of the movie. CMHC Spring Closing Program
Monday, March 23 12:30-1:30 PM Parents, siblings, and friends are invited to join us at 12:30 PM for our co-op closing program as our students show all they've learned over the semester. Art projects will be displayed. Drama, demonstrations, and songs will be performed. Videos will be shown. We'll enjoy seeing all the fun and creativity that have been poured into co-op this semester. |
