High School (9th-12th grade)
First Hour
Choice A: Vocal Ensemble (Vorbau)
Calling all middle school and high school singers, let's sing to the Lord a new song together! In this class, we will sing a variety of music and learn how to read music, sight sing, and sing in 2-4 part harmony.
Student Supplies: Water bottle and folder
Choice B: Improv Theater (Kijsamnong) - Waitlist
In this class students will learn the basics of improv theater mostly through use of their voices and body movement to tell a story. We will work on stage presence and as well as projecting their voices. We will act out mini skits each week based on a little direction or topics to learn to work together to tell a story.
Student Supplies: Water bottle, notebook, and clothes that allow free movement while being comfortable and modest
Choice C: Bird Illustration (Stream)
Aviary science will be the touchstone for this art class that introduces sketch, contouring, and shading techniques. We will examine scientific illustration in the vein of Audubon’s watercolors and try our hand at tracing, sketching, and creating realistic cameos of some beautiful birds. Students will have the chance to present briefly on a bird of choice and one "Birds of Thailand" project requires outside observation and sketching from life. Art mediums will include graphite, charcoal, and color pencil. We'll have a Wingspan game party on March 27 to learn a little more about birds and appreciate the art in the game.
Student Supplies: 2 large sketch pads, (approximately 260 X 375), drawing pad (275 X 375, 15 sheets, Renaissance brand), 1/4 in. square/flat paintbrush (for shading), set of charcoal pencils, ebony pencil, and art eraser
Choice D: Study Hall
High School students are allowed to choose one class hour per semester to be a Study Hall. The co-op is screen free so students must bring work that does not require a device to complete.
Choice E: Teacher Assistant
High School students are allowed to request one ages 1-10 year-old class per semester to TA. This is dependent on availability and teacher approval.
